Description

The Relistat Nasal Wool is a highly absorbent and comfortable wool that is composed of soft, non-woven fibres shaped as ropes (Twisted Fibres). The Calcium Alginate Dressing is highly absorbent, and conforms to the shape of the wound and once the dressing is inserted, it interacts with the wound to form a soft gel. This gel maintains a moist healing environment, preventing the dressing from sticking. Removal is made much easier, and any clots of blood remain small, greatly reducing the risk of causing fresh bleeding.
Due to its unique polymer, the Relistat Nasal Wool absorbs up to 20 times its own weight in blood. The patient can continue with everyday activities and remove the dressing safely after 30 minutes. The wool continually releases Calcium until the bleeding has completely ceased. Calcium is a natural coagulant which actively aids in stopping the nosebleed quickly. Over 90% of nosebleeds are anterior nosebleeds, which occur in the lower cavity, or front of the nose. Relistat is designed to quickly and conveniently stop minor nosebleeds, maintaining a moist healing environment and lowering the activity of bacteria. The release of the Calcium Ion can activate Thrombinogen and improve Haemostasis while allowing the wound site to heal quickly.
Size: 2g.
