Description

The BV Non Sterile Absorbent Pads are absorbent dressing pads that comprise of cellulose pulp, white polypropylene, blue polypropylene and tissue paper. The wound side layer is made of white polypropylene with very low adherence and the external layer is made of blue SMS polypropylene with hydrophobic properties. The inner layer is composed by cellulose fluff, while the middle layer has spread properties composed by tissue paper.

The BV Non Sterile Absorbent Pads are ideal for situations where a great capacity of absorption is needed, such as bleeding and chronic wounds with moderate to high exudation. They can also be used as secondary dressings for high exuding wounds. They can hold many times its own weight in exudate without leaking due to the waterproof backing.

The BV Non Sterile Absorbent Pads come in a packet of 25.

Sizes:

  • 10 x 20cm
  • 20cm x 40cm

Uses

BV Non Sterile Absorbent Pads are ideal for situations where a great capacity of absorption is needed, such as bleeding and chronic wounds with moderate to high exudation. They can also be used as secondary dressings for high exuding wounds.

Application

• Remove the absorbent pad from the packet
• If using as a secondary dressing, make sure that any bleeding from the site is stopped before applying
• Cleanse the wound and ensure that the absorbent pad is large enough to provide a margin that covers the primary dressing and reaches dry healthy skin around the wound site
• Apply as required
• The dressing will need to be held in place with a suitable retention aid (e.g bandages or adhesive tape)
• The frequency of dressing change will depend on the clinical condition of the wound, and the dressing should be changed if exudate penetrates the dressing.
