Uses
The BV Muslin Woven Bandages can be used to secure would dressings in place, may provide light support and offers compression which may aid in reducing swelling.
Application
- Remove the BV Muslin Woven Bandage from the packaging
- Unroll the bandage, and if necessary, cut to an appropriate length
- Ensure the affected area is clean and dry – if necessary, place a dressing or gauze pad over the wound before applying the bandage.
- Begin at the farthest point from the body (e.g., if wrapping an arm, start near the wrist)
- Wrap the bandage in a spiral motion, overlapping each turn by about half the width of the bandage
- Maintain even tension to provide support without cutting off circulation
- Once the area is covered, fasten the bandage using medical tape or a bandage clip
- Check circulation to ensure that the bandage is secured firmly, but not too tight – Watch for signs of poor circulation, such as paleness, coldness, or numbness in the wrapped area
