The SharpSafe container is designed for safe, point-of-use sharps disposal as part of the Near Patient Disposal System (NPSD), helping to reduce the risk of injury associated with transporting used sharps. It features a large aperture for easy disposal of needles and syringes, along with an integrated Safety Shield to help prevent overfilling and minimise spillage. The puncture-resistant construction provides reliable protection against needle-stick injuries.
A four-audible-click system ensures the lid is securely fitted, while the dual closure mechanism offers both temporary and tamper-proof permanent sealing to prevent further waste from being added once closed. A permanent in-mould label enhances compliance and traceability.

Uses
This SharpSafe container is designed for the safe collection and disposal of sharps waste, such as needles, syringes, and other sharp medical instruments, at the point of use. Its purpose is to reduce the risk of needle-stick injuries and cross-contamination by providing a secure, puncture-resistant container that allows healthcare professionals to dispose of sharps safely and immediately after use.
Application
- Attach the lid by applying pressure to each corner in turn
- For temporary closure, fold the cover flap into position and press
- To release the temporary closure, press the catch on the cover flap
- When full, press firmly where indicated for final closure
- When the container is full, use the handle to safely lift it to the point of collection
