Uses
The PharmaCare Pulse Oximeter can be used for spot-checking of oxygen saturation and pulse rate in adult patients using a fingertip. The oximeter is suitable for home health monitoring.
Application
Please read all instructions within the instruction manual prior to use
Using the Pulse Oximeter
- Remove the PharmaCare Pulse Oximeter and lanyard from its packaging
- Pass the thinner end of the lanyard through the hanging hole, then pass the thicker end through the thinner end and tighten the lanyard
- Install the two AAA batteries provided into the battery compartment
- Press the bottom of the device and open the probe, then insert one finger into the probe
- Press the power button and the measure interface will appear
- After about 8 seconds, the measurement results can be read directly from the display screen
- Before reading the parameters, make sure that the numbers on the Pulse Oximeter interface has been sustained for more than 4 seconds
- The device will automatically turn off within 8 seconds after the finger has been removed from the probe
Helpful Tips
- The user should fully insert the finger into the probe
- It is recommended to let the LED light shine directly on the nail
- Don’t shake the finger, and try to keep the user still during the measurement
- The user should not have nail polish or makeup on the hands when taking a reading
- Avoid inserting a wet finger into the probe
Cleaning the Pulse Oximeter
The Pulse Oximeter should be cleaned on a regular basis. If there is heavy pollution or a lot of dust and sand in the area, the device should be cleaned more frequently. The recommended cleaning agent is 70% Ethanol or diluted mild soap.
To clean your pulse oximeter:
- Turn the power off
- Clean the display using a soft, clean cloth dampened with a glass cleaner
- Clean the exterior surface and probe using a cloth dampened with the cleaner
- Wipe off all the cleaning solution with a dry cloth after cleaning if necessary
- Dry your pulse oximeter in a ventilated and cool place
Disinfecting the Pulse Oximeter
- Clean the pulse oximeter before disinfecting it
- The recommended disinfectant is 70% Ethanol
- Disinfection steps are the same as cleaning
