Description

The Specialist E Bandage is a unique plaster formula that offers minimal plaster loss to ensure maximum strength and a smooth cast finish. It is the ideal choice for all casting applications where quick setting time, enhanced versatility and optimum moulding characteristics are critical. Orthopaedic professionals will appreciate the creamy texture and ease of application of Specialist E whilst patients will like the smooth feel and the way it forms a well fitting cast that is reassuringly tough and strong.

The smooth, creamy texture allows for an aesthetically pleasing cast, while also being highly mouldable and strong. The Specialist E Bandage produces a perfect fit around difficult body contours and provides well laminated casts that set within 2 – 4 minutes, minimising the period when casts may be vulnerable to distortion. It also has the ability to window after only 10 minutes and is both easy to apply and to remove.

The bandage creates a strong cast that is formulated to keep the plaster on the roll, where you need it, not in the wrapper or in the dip bucket.  The product comes in moisture proof packaging, protecting and prolonging the product shelf life and saving money.

Sizes:

  • 10cm x 2.7m

Specialist E is the ideal choice for all casting applications where quick setting time, enhanced versatility and optimum moulding characteristics are critical.

Application

  • Remove the Specialist E Bandaging from the packaging
  • Apply stockinet and cast padding over the entire area to be immobilised
  • Do not apply plaster bandage directly to the skin
  • Hold the bandage loosely at a slight angel and submerge vertically into clean room temperature water (21ºC-24ºC/70ºF-75ºF) for 3-5 seconds
  • Keep the leading edge separate from the roll using the thumb or forefinger, then squeeze the bandage to remove excess water
  • Apply bandage to the pre-padded extremity by using a spiral motion, overlapping each turn 1/3 to ½ the width of the bandage, while gently rubbing each layer into the previous layer to form a solid, well laminated cast
  • Mould and position as indicated by the physician. Use a standard oscillating cast saw with a sharp blade for removal
