Soffban Synthetic is a padding that is suitable for use with plaster of Paris and synthetic casts. The synthetic non-absorbent material wicks moisture away from the skin, reduces the risk of skin maceration and sensitivity and the cushioning ‘loft’ is retained even if padding becomes wet. It is easy to tear, has excellent conformability around body contours, feathers easily and clings to itself and also blends to give a smooth even finish.
Soffban Synthetic has a padding structure that creates a material which is light, deep and stable, with good airflow. It protects the patient with a reduced risk of skin abrasions and also provides protection from the cast saw on cast removal. It is comfortable for the patient and is soft and gentle against the skin. It is autoclavable and can be sterilised.
