Description

The Rossmax Cuff for Blood Pressure Monitor is a latex free cuff that can be used as a replacement for any of the Rossmax Blood Pressure Monitor cuffs. It is a patented cone cuff, and has a position guideline. It has an ergonomic shape, and this makes the cuff easy to apply.

The Rossmax Cuff for Blood Pressure Monitor small size fits 18-26cm, or 7.0″ – 10.3″.

Uses

The Rossmax Cuff for Blood Pressure Monitor can be used as a replacement cuff for any of the Rossmax Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors.

This can then be used to measure blood pressure.

High blood pressure affects many people throughout Ireland. It usually has no symptoms, and you may have it for years without knowing. However, high blood pressure can damage the heart, blood vessels, kidneys and other parts of your body. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to stroke, heart failure or kidney failure. Blood pressure can fluctuate throughout the day, and monitoring and recording blood pressure at home can provide valuable information  to your healthcare provider, who can then determine whether you have high blood pressure or not. With this sort of information, a healthcare provider can then determine what kind of treatment plan would best suit your needs.

Home monitoring can also benefit individuals already treating high blood pressure, by assisting your doctor in determining whether your current treatment plan is working or not.

Application

Applying the Cuff:

1.Unwrap the arm cuff, leaving the end of the cuff through the D-ring of the cuff.

2.Put your left arm through the cuff loop. The colour strip indication should be positioned closer to you with the tube pointing in the direction of your arm. Turn your left palm upward and place the edge of the arm cuff at approximately 1.5-2.5 cm above the inner side of the elbow joint. Tighten the cuff by pulling the end of the cuff.

3.Center the tube over the middle of the arm. Press the hook and loop material together securely. Allow room for 2 fingers to fit between the cuff and your arm. Position the artery mark over the main artery.

Note: Locate the main artery by pressing the 2 fingers approximately 2cm above the bend of your elbow on the inside of your left arm. Identify where the pulse can be felt the strongest. This is your main artery.

4.Plug in the cuff connecting tube into the unit.

5.Lay your arm on the table (palm upwards) so the cuff is at the same height as your heart. Make sure the tube is not kinked.

6.This cuff is suitable for your use if the arrow falls within the solid colour line. If the arrow falls outside the solid colour line, you will need a cuff with other circumferences.
