Description
The PharmaCare Digital Thermometer provides a fast, accurate reading of the human body temperature. With a temperature reading that can be shown as fast as 10 seconds, this thermometer is easy to use, has a flexible tip and is waterproof too.
This PharmaCare Digital Thermometer has a memory recall and fever alarm. It is suitable for children and adults and is enabled to take measurements orally, axillary or rectally. Temperatures can be read in both °C and °F (Celsius and Fahrenheit). It automatically shuts off after 10 minutes to prolong battery life and has a low battery indicator.
Uses
The PharmaCare Digital Thermometer is used to provide a fast, accurate temperature reading of the human body temperature through oral, axillary or rectal use.
Application
- To switch between °C and °F switch function, hold the on/off button for 3 seconds when turning on
- Press the on/off button to activate. The display will read for 2 seconds and a beep sound will be heard
- When you release the on/off button, the last measured temperature will be displayed with a “M” in the right corner
- When Lo° and flashing °C (°F) displays, the thermometer is ready for a temperature reading measurement. If the room temperature is lower than 32 °C (90°F), the room temperature would be displayed instead of Lo°
- The beep will sound when temperature measuring is complete
- Press the on/off button to power off the unit or the unit will shut down automatically approximately 8 minutes after use
For Oral Use:
- Clean the probe tip before use
- Place the probe tip under the tongue as near as possible to the heat pocket
- Before taking the measurement, the patient’s mouth should be closed for about 1 minute
- Do not drink hot/cold fluids, exercise, smoke or perform other activities prior to a reading – these activities will raise or lower temperature readings when compared to your normal, average temperature
- Clean the probe tip after use
For Axillary Use:
- Clean the probe tip before use
- Wipe the underarm with a dry towel and place the probe tip under the arm so the tip is touching the skin and the thermometer is perpendicular to the body
- Position the arm across the chest so the probe tip is well covered by the arm
- The approximate measurement time takes 2-3 minutes
- Axillary temperatures are generally 0.5°C /1.0°F lower than oral readings
- Clean the probe tip after use
For Rectal Use:
- Clean the probe tip before use
- Lubricate the tip of the thermometer with a water-soluble gel
- Gently insert the probe tip no more than 1.5 inches into the rectum
- The approximate measurement time takes 1 minute
- Rectal temperatures are generally 0.5°C/1.0°F higher than oral readings
- Disinfect the thermometer after use
How to Replace the Battery:
- The battery in your digital thermometer needs to be replaced when the low battery icon appears in the lower right corner of the display
- Prepare a 1.5 V, AG3 alkaline or LR41 silver oxide type battery (or an equivalent)
- Pull the battery cover away from the unit
- Use a suitable tool to remove the old battery and change to a new one
- Push back the battery set
