Mueller Flex-Light Tape is the perfect lightweight support that offers stability without heavy restriction. The tape is less bulky that traditional tape and allows natural movement in matches and training and Tape provides additional support to the joint it is being applied to. Commonly referred to as “spatting tape” by physios, this tape is designed for taping over football boots to ensure laces do not come undone and preventing movement of the foot inside the boot.

Uses
Mueller Flex-Light Tape is widely used across many sports for spatting — a technique used to support the ankle and secure football boots during play. The tape wraps securely over a players boot and ankle, making the foot more secure and limiting movement inside the boot. This offers the user a good level of support, but it does not completely restrict movement.
Key purposes include:
- Spatting over boots for ankle support
- Ankle stabilisation during matches or training
- High level support without compromising mobility
Application
- Remove the Mueller Flex-Light Tape from the packaging
- Find the start of the tape, and wrap it with appropriate tension – each wrap should cover at least half of the width of the previous wrap
- To ensure good adhesion, do not allow the last wrap to touch the skin and completely cover the previous wrap
- Press the end of the tape for a few seconds after wrapping
- Easily hand tear the fabric when the ankle is secured
- Always seek professional advice for good practice taping techniques
