Description

The Jobst Comprifore Lite 3 Layer Bandage System is a multi-layer compression bandage system that provides safe and effective sustained graduated compression of 40mmHg for the treatment of venous leg ulcers.

The Jobst Comprifore Lite 3 Layer Bandage System includes a pad bandage, light bandage and a cohesive bandage, and is ideal for those with smaller ankles or lower ABI.

The Jobst Comprifore Lite 3 Layer Bandage System provides effective levels of sustained graduated compression, and provides built in safety and ease of application.

The Jobst Comprifore #1 Absorbent padding bandage distributes pressure evenly, protects bony prominences and absorbs exudate.

The Jobst Comprifore #2 Light support bandage adds absorbency, and smooths the padding bandage.

The Jobst Comprifore #4 Flexible cohesive compression bandage provides the second layer of compression and keeps bandages securely in place so that there is no additional fixation necessary.

The Comprifore compression dressing provides sustained compression for up to 7 days. Also included with the Jobst Comprifore Lite 3 Layer Bandage System is the Cutimed Sorbact WCL (Wound Contact Layer).

Application

Before applying the Jobst Comprifore Lite 3 Layer Bandage System, make certain that the Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) is above 0.6.

It is recommended to wash and dry the leg and apply medical skin care to the unbroken and stressed skin before applying the multi-layer compression bandaging technique. In case there is a wound, it is recommended to apply an individually chosen wound contact dressing to the wound according to manufacturers instructions for use. Hold the dressing in place until it is covered by Jobst Comprifore #1.

Jobst Comprifore #1 – natural absorbent padding bandage.

Apply padding bandage from the base of the toes to the knee using a spiral technique and 50% overlap. Use any remaining padding to protect any bony prominences or to improve absorption capacity if the wound is heavily exuding. The pressure under the bandage could bruise and harm unprotected/unpadded skin especially over bony parts of the leg.

Jobst Comprifore #2 – light conforming bandage.

Apply from the base of the toes to the knee, over Jobst Comprifore #1, using a spiral technique, midstretch and 50% overlap. Finish by leaving a straight edge to Jobst Comprifore #1 and cut off any excess Jobst Comprifore #2.If necessary, use adhesive tape to secure or ask patient to hold it in place.

Jobst Comprifore #4 – flexible cohesive compression bandage.

Apply from the toes to the knee using a spiral technique with 50% extension and 50% overlap. Apply the bandage at 50% extension around the foot to help prevent oedema and steeply across the front of the foot to reduce build-up of material over the front of the ankle. Again, remember to enclose the heel. Following application, press lightly on the surface to ensure that the bandage adheres to itself and no tape is necessary to keep it in place.
