Description
Hypafix is a self-adhesive, non-woven fabric tape designed for secure and rapid fixation suitable for wound dressings, instruments, probes and catheters. It is made from white polyester material and coated with hypoallergenic adhesive on quick release backing paper. The non-sterile fabric can easily be cut to the required shape and size, making it especially useful over joints and awkward body contours ensuring better comfort.
Hypafix provides complete coverage of the entire dressing reducing the risk of contamination. The risk of maceration is decreased due to the tape being permeable to air and moisture. The material is also radiotransparent making it safe to wear during radiotherapy or X-ray examinations.

Uses
Hypafix is used to provide reliable fixation for catheters and drainage tubes, reducing the risks of casual contamination and allowing joints to be dressed without constraining movement.
Application
- Remove Hypafix from the packaging
- Always ensure the fixation edge is adequate when cutting Hypafix to size
- Measure the amount of tape needed to adequately cover the area (note: at least 2cm from the edge of the wound dressing should be included)
- Cut the desired amount and shape of the tape
- Carefully remove the plastic to expose the adhesive
- Place the tape over the affected area, making sure it is secured to the skin
