Description

The Deramed Hand Exercise Ball is a gel ball that comes colour coded, and with three different resistance strengths for hand, finger, thumb or forearm resistance training. The gel balls can be used for a number of different exercises and return back to their original shape after each squeeze, making them perfect for use in the clinic or at home. The Deramed Hand Exercise Ball can be used for the development and improvement of proprioception, hand and forearm muscle strengthening, mobility and ‘light touch’ movement among several other uses.

Colour:

• Green – Soft Resistance

• Red – Medium Resistance

• White – Hard Resistance

 

Uses

The Deramed Hand Exercise Ball can be used for the development and improvement of proprioception, hand and forearm muscle strengthening, mobility and ‘light touch’ movement, stress reduction, Rheumatoids joint decongestion and Repetitive Stress injury (RSI) treatment.

 

Application

The Deramed Hand Exercise Ball can be used for a number of different hand exercises, some of which are listed below:

Strengthen Grip Exercise:
• Squeeze the hand exercise ball with your fingers and thumb, as if making a fist
• Squeeze
• Release the ball completely
• Open your fingers as wide as you can

 

Pinch Exercise:
• Pinch the hand exercise ball with your fingers and thumb extended, and with your fingers straight
• To make this exercise more challenging, pinch the ball for a longer period of time

 

Thumb Flexion & Extension:
• With your palm flat, place the hand exercise ball on your palm
• Use your thumb to keep it in place
• Use your thumb to roll the ball up and down your palm

 

Table Roll:
• Place the hand exercise ball on a table
• Place your hand on top of it
• Keeping a flat hand, roll the ball from the base of your palm up to your fingertips

 

Finger Flexion:
• Hold the hand exercise ball in your palm
• Press into it using all your fingers except your thumb
• Press and release

 

Thumb Roll:
• Place the hand exercise ball on your palm
• Keep your palm flat, using your thumb to keep it in place
• Use your thumb to roll the ball in a circle on your palm

 

Finger Squeeze:
• Place the hand exercise ball between two fingers
• Squeeze your fingers together
• Squeeze and release
• You can do this between any combinations of fingers, depending on which you want to apply the exercise to

 

Thumb Opposition:
• Place the hand exercise ball on your palm
• Use your thumb to keep it in place
• Use your thumb to move the ball from left to right
