Description

The Cuticell Classic Dressing is a paraffin-impregnated gauze dressing that is indicted for exuding wounds, including first and second-degree burns, lacerations, leg ulcers, donor and recipient skin graft sites. It is a low-adherent dressing made of open weave cotton gauze and impregnated with soft paraffin. The dressings are sterile, and they also facilitate dressing changes while supporting a moist wound environment.

Uses

The Cuticell Classic Dressing is used on exuding wounds, including first and second-degree burns, lacerations, leg ulcers, donor and recipient skin graft sites.

 

Application

• Ensure that hands are washed thoroughly
• Position the injured person, making sure the wound is supported
• Ensure good lighting and always explain what you are doing
• The wounded area should be cleaned with a sterile pad or saline solution to be sure that all bacteria is eliminated from the site of the injury
• Remove the Cuticell Classic Dressing from the packaging
• Apply the dressing to the affected area, followed by adhesive bandage tape to secure the gauze in place
• You may add another layer of gauze or a larger bandage to cover the entire area to help keep the dressing from coming loose
• The adhesive bandage should not come in contact with the wound at all
