Description
BSN Cuticell Classic Paraffin Gauze Dressing is a low-adherent dressing that is made of open weave cotton gauze impregnated with soft paraffin. The Paraffin facilitates dressing change and supports a moist environment for the wound.
It is an economical solution when treating exuding wounds.
The BSN Cuticell Classic Paraffin Gauze Dressing is odourless and transparent, providing for a better wound inspection and better conditions for the wound to heal. It does not fray, and prevents occlusive effects.
This product can also be sold individually at a retail price of €0.88 each.
Uses
The BSN Cuticell Classic Paraffin Gauze Dressing is typically used to cover wounds or burns for the purpose of helping them heal faster and preventing infection or further injury.
The BSN Cuticell Classic Paraffin Gauze Dressing is used as it does not stick to the skin, and this means that pulling it off is not usually painful for the person who is wounded.
Application
Before performing any procedure, you must make sure that hands are washed thoroughly. Position the injured person, making sure the wound is supported. Ensure good lighting and always explain what you are doing.
The wounded area needs to be cleaned with a sterile pad or saline solution to be sure that all bacteria is eliminated from the site of the injury.
Remove the BSN Cuticell Classic Paraffin Gauze Dressing from the packaging.
The BSN Cuticell Classic Paraffin Gauze Dressing is then applied to the affected area, followed by adhesive bandage tape to secure the gauze in place. Many people add another layer of gauze, or a larger bandage to cover the entire area to help keep the dressing from coming loose.
The adhesive bandage should not come in contact with the burn at all.
