Description
The BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing is a sterile atraumatic, super-absorbent silicone foam dressing that is designed to adapt to low, medium and high exudate levels of varying viscosities, even highly viscous exudate. It has quick, vertical absorption that secures fluid retention, even under compression. It has exceptional breathability, and allows for a atraumatic, pain-free dressing change when needed.
The wound contact surface is a perforated silicone layer. This layer allows gentle adherence to the periwound skin but not to the moist wound bed or to the epidermis of the healing wound. The outer film is water-repellent, yet permeable to oxygen and vapour.
TheBSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing has a foam dressing and an embedded superabsorber that is designed to absorb and to lock away excess wound fluid inside the dressing, promoting a moist wound environment and minimising the risk of maceration of the wound environment. The BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing is highly conformable and provides excellent cushioning and protection of the wound. The BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing leaves no residue in the wound, and The reliably retains wound exudate, even under compression bandages.

Uses
The BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing is indicated for secondary healing wounds with moderate to high exudate levels, such as venous and arterial leg ulcers, diabetic gangrenes, pressure ulcers, skin grafts, abrasions, lacerations and surgical incisions.
The BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing may be used on an infected wound in addition to antimicrobial therapy.
Application
Debride if necessary and irrigate the wound in accordance with local clinical protocol.
Remove excess moisture from surrounding skin.
Remove a BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing from the box.
For best results, make sure the BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing overlaps the wound margins by at least 2 cm. The BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing may be cut to size, if necessary.
Remove the protective film and apply with the adherent side towards the wound.
Avoid stretching the dressing.
The BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing can remain in place for up to 7 days, dependent on wound conditions and exudate levels. It is recommended the dressing is changed every 24 hours initially moving to less frequent changes as necessary.
Carefully remove the secondary dressing or bandage, and gently remove the BSN Cutimed Siltec High Tech Foam Dressing from the wound bed and discard.
If required, cleanse the wound prior to application of a new dressing.
