Description
BSN Cutimed Siltec B is a self-adherent silicone bordered foam dressing with super absorbers. It is indicated for secondary healing wounds with low to moderate exudate levels, such as venous leg ulcers, arterial leg ulcers, diabetic gangrenes, pressure sores, skin grafts, as well as for abrasions and sutured wounds.
BSN Cutimed Siltec B is a polyurethane foam dressing containing superabsorbent particles which absorb and lock wound exudate. The wound contact surface is a perforated silicone layer. This layer allows gentle adherence to the periwound skin but not to the moist wound bed or to the epidermis of the healing wound. This minimises trauma and pain during dressing changes. The outer film of the BSN Cutimed Siltec B is water-repellent, yet permeable to oxygen and vapour.
The foam dressing and the embedded superabsorbers are designed to absorb and to lock away excess wound fluid inside the dressing, promoting a moist wound environment and minimising the risk of maceration of the wound environment. BSN Cutimed Siltec B is highly conformable and provides cushioning and protection of the wound site. BSN Cutimed Siltec B leaves no residues in the wound. The dressing reliably retains wound exudate, even under compression bandages.
This BSN Cutimed Siltec B box contains 5 dressings.
Size: 10 x 10 cm.

Application
Wound Preparation
- Debride if necessary and irrigate the wound in accordance with local clinical protocol.
- Remove excess moisture from surrounding skin
Dressing Application
- Select an appropriate dressing according to wound size
- For best results, make sure Cutimed Siltec B overlaps the wound margins by at least 2 cm. (fig. A)
- To apply, remove protective film (fig. B) and apply with the adherent side towards the wound. (fig. C)
- Avoid stretching the dressing.
- Depending on wound location it may be appropriate to apply additional dressing fixation.
- If necessary, Cutimed Siltec B can be used in combination with other dressings e.g. in case of infected wounds, or for dry, necrotic wounds.
Infected Wounds
- If the wound is infected, appropriate medical treatment should be initiated.
- Application of the Cutimed Siltec B may be continued at the discretion of the clinician.
- Cutimed Siltec B may be used on an infected wound in addition to antimicrobial therapy under medical supervision.
Dressing Change and Removal
- Cutimed Siltec B can remain in place for several days, dependent on wound conditions and exudate levels. It is recommended the dressing be changed every 24 hours initially moving to less frequent changes as necessary.
- Carefully remove the secondary dressing or bandage (if applicable), and gently remove Cutimed Siltec B from the wound bed and discard.
- If required, cleanse the wound prior to application of a new dressing.
