Description

The BV Conforming Bandage is a non-sterile light weight elastic bandage used in the fixation of dressings. The bandage is made of 41% cotton and 59% polyamide.

The BV Conforming Bandage is air-permeable, and sterilizable.

The construction when stretched is 17 threads/sq.cm, and the stretched length: 4m The elongation is >120%, and the approximate weight when stretched is 28g/sq.m.

Uses

The BV Conforming Bandage is designed to mould itself to the shape of the area where it is applied. This helps the bandage stay in place, providing extra security. They are very useful around the house, or in a first aid kit to treat wounds.

The BV Conforming Bandage is particularly useful for covering dressings on the hands, shoulders, knees, and elbows, as it can gently stretch to conform to the contours of the body, while offering flexible movement.

The BV Conforming Bandage is designed to be breathable, allowing air to circulate over the skin and around the dressing used on a wound. A conforming bandage will not sag or droop, as it clings tightly to itself and holds its shape. It also usually doesn’t require clips, tapes, or other devices to secure it in place.

Application

Remove the BV Conforming Bandage from the packaging.

Hold the bandage so that the start of the roll is facing up.

Start rolling the loose end of the bandage on the affected area.

Hold the loose end of the bandage in place with one hand.

With the other hand, wrap the bandage in a circle twice around the affected area.

Always wrap the bandage from outside to inside.
Continue to wrap the bandage in a spiral pattern, like a figure 8.

Overlap the elastic bandage by ½ of its width each time you go around the affected area.

Fasten the end to the rest of the bandage, if needed. Do not use metal clips where your skin folds or creases, such as behind your knee.
